FlowCapt FC4 Wind blown Snow Sensor

FlowCapt wind blown snow sensor is a sealed and low-power sensor with no other moving parts. It combines anemometer and snow particle counting to determine the intensity and speed of wind blown snow. It consists of three sound pressure sensing components, one electronic processor (with integrated circuit board and processor inside), and related cables and data lines.

Working principle:

The flux and frictional wind speed of snow particles blown by wind can beMonitor the wind and snow blowing at a frequency of 15 seconds per time. It adopts the principle of mechanical acoustic coupling for measurement. When wind blown snow particles hit the sound pressure sensing component (a tube like sensor, as shown in the figure below), sound pressure is generated. The sound pressure signal is collected by an electronic processor, which amplifies, filters, linearizes, and digitizes the sound pressure signal. The digitized model is transmitted to the user's external data collector through RS232 or SDI-12. Similarly, the measurement of frictional wind speed is the same: frictional force is generated between the wind and the sound pressure sensing element, which is collected by an electronic processor and then converted into a digital signal output.
